Six Flags St. Louis (formally called Six Flags Over Mid-America) opened in 1971 as the third of the original Six Flags theme parks, the others being Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags Over Texas. The complex covers an area of over 130 acres and is situated just off interstate 44 close to the city of Eureka.
